Pests are the number one garden killer in all of America, and if you would believe it the world. In fact, other countries have much more of a problem with pest than people in the states do, so consider yourself lucky unless you’re not American

These vermin come in all shapes and sizes, from snails to rabbits and everything in between. There are many different things you can do for each of the different bugs or rodents that are terrorizing your garden.

For example if you have rodents coming in your garden, maybe you should invest in a watch dog. These pups can be a really god send to your patches of produce.

If you have rabbits and squirrels taking all your home grown vegetation a dog maybe the perfect thing, because state law usually state that you may not hunt these unless it is the right season. However, if your dog hunts them you cannot be blamed for whatever may happen to the critter.

In fact, if you wanted to frame your dog as a bunny killer; who would now the difference? I won’t say anything.

But if you are a green thumb gardener that has a soft spot for natures little critters, then you may want to try getting a net and covering your garden in that. This can be just as effective as a dog trained to kill, but it is a little more of a hassle because you have to uncover and recover your plants.

The other downside about these nets is it may keep the bigger rodents out, but it creates a safe haven for the insects inside. Basically these bugs get inside and they can thrive without the threat of outside creatures coming to eat them.

Many different birds will actually help to eat these bugs, and dogs do have a hard time catching birds because of the flight thing. If you have a net these birds are not going to be able to eat all these annoying pests.

Then again there are also those birds that are going to try and eat your garden just as much as those annoying bugs. You could always try pesticide, but who likes covering the fruits and veggies in poisons?

This is what I would recommend doing. Get a good amount of lady bugs, and praying mantises.

These are two of the best garden protectors that can be. The mantis will get most the bigger bugs, and the lady bug will eat all of those little larvae that other bugs leave on leaves.

They work like two hands in a bush or one in the pocket; however the saying goes. If you see these guys hanging out in your garden, keep them around.
