What could give one more satisfaction when the snow flies, or when the flowers cease to bloom or even in midsummer they have their place than a beautifully appointed arrangement made of dried materials? There are so many possibilities with this particular type of material.
When working with dried materials we should think, as when working with fresh material, associate like materials – that is, swamp materials should be associated with swamp materials, etc. We have in mind an especially outstanding arrangement worked up on a large piece of fungi. It is about 18 inches long and 10 inches wide. At one end we have set our needle point. Used three cattails, which were dried to form a curve, giving a curved line. This is followed out with swamp grasses which have their own natural curves. We must hide the needle point and to do this we have used the lotus pods, and then a piece of fungi that had dried in dual color. This has worked out as our focal point.
