Tropical Cyclone Tasha, first identified on December 24, 2010 was a short-term but devastating tropical cyclone causing severe floods in Queensland, and New South Wales, Australia during the Christmas holiday 2010. Queensland and New South Wales were most affected with the damage of up to billions of dollars. In spite of the damage, heavy rains have been welcomed by many farmers after suffering a long-lasting drought. According to Australia’s Bureau of Meteorology, 10 rivers’ banks in the state’s north were in danger of being burst, and the waters have not been adequately supplied in some regions for days or even weeks. This is the most devastating history-making flood in Australia during the past 50 years. Below are the images of severe flood in Queensland, Australia caused by tropical Cyclone Tasha.
